THE DILEMMA OF BIG BROTHER DIPLOMACY AN ANALYSIS OF NIGERIA’S ROLE IN RESOLUTION OF IVORIAN CRISIS

Abstract

This paper analyses Nigeria’s dilemma in the implementation of Big brother diplomacy agenda in the evolution of Ivorian crisis. Situating the civil strife and imminent state collapse in the bonding of congeries of ethnic groups within the emergent nation state, it concludes that a cautious and discriminatory implementation of Big brother diplomacy in the region is inconsistent with Nigeria’s regional hegemonic aspiration.
